I was passing thru,I sure it's delicious
Decent food but slow service.
Waited almost 2 hours to get our food, which was raw vegetables, sandwiches, and a couple taco plates. Almost $60. We were charged $13.99 for a half chicken breast that was added to the veggies. Service was extremely slow, food was bland and no one seemed to care.. An employee dropped a mug and it shattered right next to us. Pieces were left. We inquired about the wait time, the response was "others had to wait longer". That is not a response or good attitude to have with customers. They could have at least offered chips and salsa as an appetizer or comped something. Do NOT waste your time or money here.
Nice place to stop if you don't want fast food. Good vibes. Great food!
Friendly and quick service. American food plus some standard Tex-Mex, which was what we had. Pie and cobler desserts. A real step above Taco/McBerger for just a bit more money. Will stop on our return to try chicken-fried steak. Crockett cnty sheriff and deputy came in to eat while we were there, so local rep must be good.
Do not, I repeat, do not get the Mexican food. Worst I have ever tried to eat. Enchiladas were cooked, unseasoned meat with a tiny bit of cheese rolled up with red sauce on top and only warm. Rice was just mush, did not even resemble rice- one bite was enough. We had planned to get something else but after seeing the people's food at the neighboring table and them "sawing" the meat, we decided to get Mexican. Even my friend's pie was not good. Very disappointed after reading the reviews. Definitely would not recommend!
We had a very lovely young woman named Sierra take care of us and I wanted to say that she was an absolute delight. We had the cheese burger and french fries and the meal was delicious. Thanks for taking such good care of a couple of weary travelers.
Delicious Cakes!
3-1-20Excellent! Wow! The burger was as good as I've had anywhere in the country and we have been through 48 states! Fresh never frozen beef! Awesome friendly service! Will add this place to our must stop list next time we are through this area!
Small menu but great food.Desserts are fresh alsoFriendly staff
We travel back and forth through Ozona 5 times a year. We can always count on a good home cooked country meal at The Cafe Next Door.
Pretty good nice service for a little roadside cafe!!
I cannot say enough good about the place!! We stopped by on a fluke- and I'm so happy we did. Everyone working there was SUPER sweet - Crystal and her sweet personality made us feel welcomed and the food was SO tasty, I wish we lived closer!! My family has multiple food intolerances and I never felt like our order was a pain or inconvenience(which is not true about many places we try).I don't see how anyone could be disappointed eating here❤️
This place was so great. The food and coffee paired with the customer service was perfect
Great lunch options. The Chicado salad was fresh and tasty! Service was great!
Chicken salad sandwich and BLT were tasty. Grilled cheese and bacon was superb. Fries were soggy. Service was indifferent (not unfriendly, but not friendly either). Bathroom was fairly clean.
Hamburger is really good. Cooked perfect to perfection. French fries are home-made. Lunch special looks good. ( disclaimer I have a food sensitivity and can't eat it, but it's getting raves from others.) Skip the coconut merengue pie. Definitely the low spot of the meal.
Came for an early lunch on the way up to Carlsbad. There was no one else here. The dining room was freeeezing, so I had to grab our coats. The waitresses were friendly and quick. We weren't very hungry, so we split a BLT. The bacon portion was generous and delicious. We had fries too. They were good but a little soggy as if they were pan-fried rather than deep-fried. Nice stop with a large dining room and clean bathrooms.
Good food good service
My wife and I had an overnight stop in Ozona. This place was right down the street from our hotel. We made the right call going there for dinner. My wife had the cowgirl burger and I had the steak fingers. Both we awesome. Wait staff was super friendly and helpful with the menu. They had some awesome looking deserts but we were both too full to get one. Will definitely come back if we make it back to Ozona.
Delicious chicken fajita salad. Huge cheeseburger. Delicious cowboy stew. Bottomless iced tea. Delicious salsa with fresh chips. Friendly service. First home cooked meal in 3 weeks of relocation travel...so glad to have stumbled on this little gem.
Burger was good, I'd recommend getting the soup over the fries as a side (fries were undercooked and soup was great) Both of our orders were slightly screwed up, forgiveable but we were among the only ones in there. Wifi password is just the telephone number on the front of the menu.
Mexican food looked real good. I had a cheeseburger though which wasn't to bad. Worth the stop because there's not another restaurant going west until Ft Stockton, I think.
This little jewel should be called the Oasis! It is truly a life saver to the I-10 traveler looking for a good meal!!!It offers all american and mexican dishes and they are delicious!First of all the sweet tea was fabulous! We tried beef enchiladas: perfectHamburger and fries: big juicy good qualityTaco with rice n beans....so good! And it was clean and service was friendly.
Always so good. Great customer service. Food is so good and the price is not bad. Great find!
The food is consistently good every time we stop by. This is a stop we always make when we are in Ozona. They make most things in house and you can taste the difference. They have both comfort food and healthy options. If you stop in make sure to leave room for dessert and try their delicious pies. Definitely suggest you grab some food when you're in the area!
Driving back to San Antonio we were so hungry. We gassed up the car and went to the Cafe Next Door for dinner. Wow! The service was excellent. The food was fresh, tasty and made by a REAL Cook. This will be our traveling food stop from here on out! Thanks for a wonderful dinner y’all.
Food was good, service left a lot to be desired. I stopped during my travels but due to my experience will never go back again when in the area. Prices are not great.
The food is good, the waitresses are great, friendly and polite. The chicken fajitas with homemade ride and beans was super filling and tasty.Got here on the 4th of July and everywhere in town was closed except for junk food and here. So glad we stopped here! If you're on the road, stop by, it'll be worth it.
We were on a long drive and wanted a local place (not a chain restaurant). Cafe Next Door offered good food choices. I tried their cowboy sandwich and it was delicious. Add some spicy salsa, and it is complete. I had a side salad which was just as big as my sandwich. The kids' meals were really test also.
Great food and friendly service it feels like home very warm
Fresh, homemade soup, pie & cornmeal muffins with friendly service
I'm not personally a fan of Southern comfort food but this place is the exception. The coleslaw had pineapple in it which was a surprise but turned out to be my favorite slaw I've tasted in years. The fried fish was perfect as was the club sandwich with thick bacon and fried ham. Apple cobbler and coconut cream pie were ridiculously good. Our waitress was fantastic, we will eat here again when passing through.
Good service. Veg sandwich was fresh. And best peach cobbler I'd ever had!
Excellent down home food
All I can say is WOW!!! What a delightful experience after a 600 plus mile travel day. Fast and friendly service and the best food I've ever tasted in a local diner! Great Mexican food for me and fantastic steak fingers for DH. All of the dishes I saw served to local and traveling diners looked delicious, and their pie case left me wishing I'd managed to save room for dessert. You can bet we'll be stopping again on our way back through!!!
great good homemade great selection great service awesome pie wonderful #goodhomecookin
You know this is a homely place with people who care about you. It is not a flash restaurant but it is a place where these people love people and treat you like family. We enjoyed the food too.

Nice quick friendly service and good food.
Nice small town cafe. The place was packed at 6pm. Nothing fancy. Good food. Decent service.
One waitress ruined the experience for me. I was nice to her but had to get up and ask for more tea. I had to wait to pay and was greeted with some eye rolling and didn't say anything to deserve that. Pork chops were delicious but won't return. I come thru Ozona quite often and that was my first time eating there. I know many drivers who come thru and will not recommend!
Wonderful friendly & prompt service. Nice open atmosphere. PHENOMENAL food.
Food was good will go again if I get the chance
It’s a small town cafe right off the highway and it’s definitely worth 30-60 minutes of your time! The service was great and the hospitality is a definite plus. Veggie sandwich - Texas toast, stuffed with LOTS of fresh spinach, lettuce, onions, mushrooms, tomatoes, onions, and avocado. Includes your choice of a side: fries, potato chips, a cup of soup or a side saladOff the menu special - queso covered grilled chicken breast with jalapeno spices, rice and beans - this was so good, it should be a regular item on the menu, instead of just making the occasional guest appearance. The chicken was very juicy and the queso had just the right amount of spice to it. It even includes a drink and a freshly baked cookie.I can’t say enough about the hospitality the staff showed on my visit. The location is very convenient for those passing through, but I would even go out of my way for this little cafe. It was that good!Show ‘em some love if you’re in the area...
Great service and food ,will recommend every one who pass by town just stop refuel your car and stomach. Ordered Salisbury steak house special was great .
Nice breakfast. Good food great service
Yummy food.
Next to Hampton inn in ozuna. Family wonderful food.
I did my due diligence before visiting this restaurant. I read each & every review. The thing that I saw complained about the most was people complaining about them being rude or giving poor service to Hispanic people. I found that to be absolutely HILARIOUS! Every single employee was HISPANIC! Seriously! I believe some people just want (or need) something to complain about! I found this place absolutely charming! The food was spectacular! At one point the cook came out of the kitchen to ask everyone how their food was & if there were any problems. The staff was sweet & funny & charming. And bilingual. So again I don't understand why there would be any issues with other Hispanics coming here!
Drove thru Ft. Stockton a for a late lunch to stop in Ozona and The Cafe Next Door. We usually stop 2-3 times a year if we are close. Always friendly staff. Food good. Lots of locals.
